OBJECTIVE

Students will understand the role of a Production Control Coordinator in ensuring product accuracy and quality.

  • Practice teamwork, sequencing, and problem-solving through a structured bracelet assembly simulation.

  • Learn how careful planning and quality control are essential in manufacturing.

FUTURE READY

Production Control Coordinators are essential in advanced manufacturing—one of the fastest-growing industries on the Central Coast and a major source of future living-wage jobs for our students. Companies like Trust Automation, Rantec, Bell-Everman, and many others rely on coordinators to organize materials, check accuracy, manage timing, and keep complex production systems running smoothly. These are not far-away careers; they are right here in our region, forming an important part of a talent pipeline that students can step into as they grow.

This lesson gives 2nd graders an early, playful introduction to the skills that make those jobs possible: sequencing, quality control, communication, and teamwork under time constraints. When students practice coordinating materials, checking for errors, and problem-solving with peers, they are developing foundational habits that support economic mobility later in life. By learning how real products get built—and how important roles like Production Control Coordinators keep everything on track—students begin to see themselves as capable contributors to the industries that power our local economy.
